Carmel Sella has over 20 years experience in the private and public sector advancing policy objectives in Los Angeles. Most recently, Carmel was a Senior Government Relations Director at Wells Fargo where she managed strategic partnerships and policy initiatives, with a strong focus on housing-related issues among other priority areas. In this role, she chaired the Office of Comptroller of Currency’s LA Project REACh’s Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) Subcommittee which developed financing policy recommendations. Carmel previously held senior positions in City of Los Angeles government including serving as Deputy Mayor, and began her career as an attorney in private practice. Carmel’s contribution to cityLAB involves addressing key issues related to Altadena’s fire recovery and supporting cityLAB’s efforts to foster innovative housing strategies. Carmel is a graduate of Wesleyan University, the London School of Economics and UCLA School of Law.
